Gas Natural Fenosa contracts GDES up to 2018 for logistical operations in Mexico

In October last, GDES initiated logistical operations in Mexico with a services contract for GNF México, which is to remain in force until May 2018. GNF operates four natural gas power generation and distribution stations in the country, serving Mexico´s most important cities.

The logistical service offered by GDES consists mainly of the reception, storage, inventory control and dispatching of all the materials required by GNF for its works, either new installations or the maintenance of existing lines.

In order to ensure correct performance of the activities covered by this contract, three new work centres have had to be opened, these being three stores, one in Monterrey to cover the needs of the north of the country, one in León, for the Bajío area, and a third in the Federal District to attend to the needs of Mexico City and surroundings.

In addition to the services currently rendered, there is a second phase that will consist of providing a transport service for the delivery of materials to the work sites. This second phase is expected to get under way later this year, once the new GNF logistics model has been established.

Our service is built on and ensured by the professional and human qualities of our new colleagues who have joined the project, to whom we wish the greatest success. The service initiated is critical for GNF, since materials management is fundamentally important for the achievement of its business objectives in the country. GNF has once more placed its trust in GDES to participate in its business growth strategy. With this contract, GDES consolidates its position with GNF as the preferred logistical partner in Latin America.
