It is born RedEr, a novel program oriented to the Grupo Dominguis Newsletter reduction of the human error

Grupo Dominguis has launched its pilot program RedEr at the Vandellós II Nuclear Power Plant, an initiative related to the safety culture for the purpose of reducing human errors.
The Project, designed in collaboration with British Consulting Company Human Performance Leadership (HPL), is in allignment with PROCURA Program, eveloped by the Asociación Nuclear Ascó Vandellós (ANAV) to improve the safety culture with the principles of the Plan of Action for the Safety Culture of Consejo de Seguridad Nuclear (CSN).

The RedEr Program contemplates three main principles: guarantee safety during work projects at client’s facilities; improve offered services quality avoiding possible reworks; and maintain personnel accident rates at zero.

Various guidelines are followed to achieve this. The principal ones are:

Insure personnel awareness about the importance of the system over they are working and the possible consequences for errors they may commit, thorugh deep reflection before tackling the job.

Insure that incidents are reported with transparency in order to achieve continuous improvement. Increase the presence of supervisory and management personnel at key work points to optimize leadership.

As explained by Julián Mendoza, System’s Director, the idea is that, “this program would be implemented in other centers and expanded to all company’s activities of the within our committment safety; understanding that it is not only following principles and procedures, but as a cultural aspect ingrained in all our personnel”.

RedEr is the last of three projects created by Grupo Dominguis to increase even more employee participation and means of communication in order to improve team work. The first was the DIME Program, developed to measure work environment and employees levels of satisfaction and expectations; this was followed by INNOVA Program encourages personnel to submit any suggestion for improvement; and now, the RedEr Program is implemented for the reduction of human error.
