Lainsa SCI, awarded new contract for the Fire Brigade at the Cepsa refinery in Tenerife

Lainsa SCI, a company specialised fire prevention and extinction, has been awarded a new contract by the Fire Brigade for the Cepsa refinery in Tenerife. This new project, which will last five years, positions this Valencian firm as national leader, with more than 450 fire-fighters and technicians providing fire protection and extinction services not only at refineries and petro- hemical plants but also at other industrial facilities, nuclear centres, research centres, airport and aerospace facilities, etc.

The company, that currently forms part of Grupo Dominguis, is carrying out a selection process in order to put together a complete team for the service. The selected personnel will be subject to a rigorous test process, followed by a training and preparation period of over three months.

This extensive training programme will cover emergencies, fire protection, rescue, fire-fighting facility maintenance, knowledge of installations, etc. It will consist of 400 study hours with the corresponding theoretical and practical evaluation tests, followed by incorporation into the service.

The new service, which will be operational during the first half of 2012, will comprise a human team made up of 25 specialist firefighters, managed and led by a brigade chief.
