GD Energy Services acquires 60% of the nuclear-industrial division of the French Company Erba

GDES Erba has been awarded a 40-million-euro project in association with Onet Technologies.
Erba Nuclear-Industrial division has revenues of 3 million euros a year.

GD Energy Services (GDES), Spanish group with international expertise in surface treatment, industrial maintenance, decommissioning of nuclear and radioactive facilities, construction and maintenance of power grids, warehouse logistic management, services to renewable energy and emergencies, has signed a strategic alliance with the French company Erba, specialised in industrial painting and anticorrosion services, that includes the acquisition of 60% of its nuclear and industrial division. With this investment, GD Energy Services pretends “to enlarge our business in France, by having a platform that allows growth in surface treatment services with stable projects and multiannual contracts” declares GDES’ CEO, Hector Dominguis.

New award in Italy for the dismantling of Trino Nuclear Power Plant

The GDES presence in Italy continues to grow with the awarding (in consortium with Equipos Nucleares S.A,) of dismantling of the primary circuit of Trino Nuclear Power Plant, in the north of the country.

Trino NPP, which belongs to SOGIN (Italian state utility), is a four-loop, 260 MW, light water modified and cooled PWR reactor, a Westinghouse design with certain similarities to the José Cabrera facility.

Gas Natural Fenosa contracts GDES up to 2018 for logistical operations in Mexico

In October last, GDES initiated logistical operations in Mexico with a services contract for GNF México, which is to remain in force until May 2018. GNF operates four natural gas power generation and distribution stations in the country, serving Mexico´s most important cities.

One of the activities that GD Energy Services (GDES) has been involved in over the years and in which radiation levels are important is the decontamination of nuclear power plant cavities. The radiation levels may increase considerably if the fuel assemblies have been previously damaged.
