GDES becomes a Participant of the United Nations Global Compact

GDES has been part of the Spanish Network of the United Nations Global Compact for more than 10 years. This international initiative promotes the implementation of various universally accepted principles for corporate social responsibility (CSR) in companies.

At GDES we have decided to broaden the scope of our collaboration by extending this commitment to the Group level, including all the majority shareholding companies, and going from Signatory to Participant in this global strategy for sustainability.

As a global company, we are keenly aware of the impact of our business on the environment and the various consequences for our customers and employees, as well as for the community and the environment in which we provide our services.

Our engagement as a Participant entails the commitment of GDES to make the Global Compact and its principles part of the strategy, culture and daily actions of our company. We are also committed to continue engaging in cooperation projects that contribute to the broader United Nations Development Goals, in particular the Sustainable Development Goals, as demonstrated in the Sustainability Report, which we publish every year, following the transparency guidelines of the Global Compact.

United Nations Global Compact

More than 13,550 companies from 160 countries have joined the UN Global Compact since its inception in 2000. This initiative, the world’s largest in corporate sustainability, is a call to companies and organisations to align their business activity to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and thereby reduce negative impacts. To this end, it provides an open forum for debate, across sectoral and international boundaries, to address major environmental and social challenges.
