GDES at the 11th Fem’Energia European Awards
Last night the FEM’Energia Awards were held in Paris. The awards, in which GDES was once more given the opportunity and the honour to participate, were organised by Women in Nuclear (WiN) Europe, WiN France and EDF. Héctor Dominguis, CEO of GDES, presented the Coup de Coeur award to Caroline Dionisi (Relations externes-permitting EPR2 at EDF).
In addition, Dominique Mouillot, France GDES Country Manager and President of WiN France, was given the task of awarding the FEM’Energy 2019 award (the evening’s biggest prize) to Sophie Lemaire, Vice President and Managing Director of Westinghouse France and Belgium.
This year FEM’Energia held its 11th edition and many happy moments were had during the course of the prestigious event, such as the recognition of our colleague Valerie Pontier for her role in organising the FEM’Energia awards since their inception back in 2008.
The objectives of these awards are to recognise the most outstanding careers of female nuclear engineers and scientists in Europe, to enhance the visibility of women working in the nuclear industry, and to encourage young and future female students to study subjects related to the field. The FEM’Energia awards recognise both the exceptional contribution and talent of female European professionals in the nuclear sector and the most promising students who are looking to develop their careers in the industry. In 2017 our colleague Adoración Arnaldos, Director of Innovation and Technology for GDES France, received the highest award in the “female European professional in the nuclear sector” category.
Gender diversity in industry and the fostering of talent are objectives that are in line with GDES commitments. That is why we celebrate being part of the FEM’Energia family – prestigious international awards with a profound impact on the nuclear sector, women’s empowerment and equality.
