Kerionics wins the second edition of the Entrepreneurs in the Energy Sector Award.
Dominguis Energy Services Group, in collaboration with the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV), has celebrated the 2nd edition of the Entrepreneurs in the Energy Sector Awards, which recognises and provides support for innovative business projects and initiatives by entrepreneurs and new companies in the energy and auxiliary services field.
The event took place at the UPV’s Polytechnic City of Innovation. The finalists presented their projects, all relating to different types of energies, to a panel comprising Joaquín Ríos, director general of IVACE (Valencian Institute for Business Competitiveness) and director general of Industry; Oscar Cantalejo, head of the Area of Technology of the PERSEO Programme (Iberdrola); José Millet, managing director for Entrepreneurship and Employment of the UPV and director of the Ideas Institute; José Dominguis, chairman of GDES, and Jesús Lacalle, GDES director of Technology Development.
In choosing the winner, consideration has been given to the quality of the project, its business feasibility and its social and environmental benefits, among other things.The winning project was Kerionics S.L, an original idea by Vicente B. Vert, José Manuel Serra and Clara Fornés that consists of creating ceramic membranes for the efficient production of oxygen from waste heat in industry.
Ion Data Service by Borja V. Sorlí and Melody Romero was runner up for a project based on artificial intelligence and applied to wind energy production forecasting. With this award, GD Energy Services consolidates its support for innovation, technology development, research and the promotion of entrepreneurs with business projects of economic, social and environmental interest to society.
