Grupo Dominguis enters the wind sector hand in hand with Sálvora Vento
Grupo Dominguis expands its field of action entering into the wind industry through the acquisition of 60% of Sálvora Vento, S.L., specialized in maintenance and consulting services for wind blades. This way, “we will give to service all the energy production industries” says Enrique Ibáñez, Deputy Director of Grupo Dominguis.
The wind sector is becoming increasingly important in Spain. This type of energy covered 15.75% of the annual electricity demand in 2011, according to data provided by Red Eléctrica de España (REE). Our country is also the largest European wind power producer and a benchmark at the international level. In this context, Grupo Dominguis, which has spent decades working in the energy sector and has wide experience in this field, expands its business perspective extending its professional services to the wind sector hand in hand with Sálvora Vento, which is highly specialized in blade maintenance.
The 60% acquisition of this company is part of a diversification strategy in different energy areas in which Grupo Dominguis is involved. “We offer services to nuclear, petrochemical, gas, solar and CSP industries and it makes a lot of sense to include the wind sector to cover the entire energy industry” states Enrique Ibáñez.
With this operation, Grupo Dominguis enters this new field with confidence and assurance due to the solid technological knowledge and experience of Sálvora Vento in composite materials and aerodynamics, which provides great added value.
