CSN hires GDES to provide specialized training in radiological emergencies

Since 2009 GDES imparts this training in collaboration with the Spanish National School of Civil Protection.

GDES Technical Radiological Protection Unit coordinates again this course, aimed at those working first in situations of radiological emergencies. We talk about the staff of Civil Protection, National Police, Military Emergency Unit or Guardia Civil. UTPR team members of GD Energy Services Operations SAU coordinate and teach this course.

The course, funded and technically supervised by the Spanish Nuclear Safety Council (CSN), and organized in collaboration with the National School of Civil Protection (ENPC). It is aimed at the implementation of the Basic Directive on Civil Protection Planning against radiation hazards (DBRR ) which objective being that the personnel involved in the planning or management of radiological emergencies or in the training of participants in the response criteria and knowledge needed to manage the emergency in an appropriate manner.

GDES accumulates 7 years of teaching in Radiological Emergency at the request of CSN. With this new course reiterates its commitment to professional training and scientific disclosure.

A delegation from the Nuclear Safety Council visits the teleteaching area of Polytechnic University

The CSN staff visited the teleteaching area from where the Polytechnic University of Valencia and Titania deliver the Master Course on Radiological Protection at the Nuclear and Radioactive Facilities.

The delegation, made up of the counsellors Rosario Velasco and Fernando Castelló and their technical advisors Diego Encinas and María Fernanda Sánchez, along with the Head of Core Engineering, Fernando Pelayo, was accompanied by the Managing Director of the Grupo Dominguis, Héctor Dominguis, and the Director of Titania, Adoración Arnaldos, and was able to gain insight into the most relevant R&D projects that are being undertaken by the group companies in the nuclear and radiological protection area.

Lainsa has been awarded the provision of complementary radiological protection services for Cofrentes Nuclear Power Plant

Lainsa a company specialized in the nuclear industry and part of Grupo Dominguis was awarded the provision of complementary radiological protection services for Cofrentes Nuclear Power Plant (CNC) during the 18th refueling which took place between September 25th and November 10th of this year. Lainsa has already provided this service in the past, in prior refuelings of the Valencian facility as a subcontractor, but this is the first time that Iberdrola Generación S.A. has awarded this service directly to Lainsa.

A professional team of 43 Lainsa’s experts has worked for more than one and a half months at Cofrentes Nuclear Power Plant complementing the work done by CNC’s radiological protection services, in which the Grupo Dominguis’ company has extensive experience from its participation as a subcontractor of the prior awarded company.
