BATTERY VALUE CHAIN | Second Life
GDES Circularity presents E TOWER®: innovation for ultra-fast and sustainable electric vehicle charging at MIV2025
The transition towards more sustainable electric mobility requires solutions that not only boost efficiency but also integrate circular economy principles. With this goal in mind, GDES Circularity introduces E TOWER®, a pioneering system that combines ultra-fast charging with energy storage based on second-life batteries. This innovation, developed in collaboration with Zeleros, addresses two major challenges in the sector: the lack of high-power infrastructure and the responsible management of resources.
E TOWER® enables the installation of fast-charging points without grid reinforcement, optimizes energy through an intelligent management system, and reduces the environmental footprint by reusing batteries from the automotive industry. This proposal marks the beginning of our series “Battery Value Chain”, dedicated to showcasing how GDES Circularity leads the transformation towards more efficient and sustainable mobility.
GDES showcases its innovation in sustainable mobility at MIV2025
On November 27, the automotive and mobility sector of the Valencian Community gathered for a key event organized by AVIA Automotive and Mobility Cluster. Companies, technology centers, and ecosystem entities discussed global challenges and smart solutions shaping the future of the sector.
In this context, Lorena Hernández, Project Technician at GDES Circularity, presented during the pitch session GDES’s value proposition in sustainable mobility: E TOWER®, a charging system for electric vehicles that tackles two major challenges:
- The lack of high-power infrastructure for fast charging.
- The generation of discarded batteries in various automotive industry processes, which are still safe and functional.
E TOWER® was introduced as a modular and scalable solution that integrates energy storage with second-life batteries, maximizing material reuse and reducing environmental impact. Key features include:
- Maximum power of 240 kW per charger and simultaneous charging for up to four vehicles.
- Installation without grid reinforcement, thanks to its plug-and-play design connected to low voltage.
- Energy Management System optimizing energy between grid, battery, and vehicle.
- Bidirectional capability, turning each charging point into a distributed energy asset.
- Digital platform with remote control, predictive maintenance, and OTA updates.
- Integration with fleet managers, CPOs, and utilities.

Additionally, E TOWER® incorporates second-life batteries from the automotive industry, closing the loop of electric mobility with reuse and recovery solutions.
During the event, the new Sector Capability Catalogue was also presented, featuring E TOWER® as an example of advanced technology for sustainable mobility developed in the Valencian Community.
