On November 4th, 5th, and 6th, the sixth edition of the World Nuclear Exhibition (WNE) took place — the world’s leading event for the nuclear energy industry. GDES was once again present at this key gathering, which this year broke all records, bringing together 780 exhibitors and 23,500 professional visitors from 88 countries.

This edition’s program revolved around two major themes. The first, “Nuclear Today and Tomorrow,” addressed key factors for the industry’s development: the viability of new projects, the integration of artificial intelligence, and innovative financing models to accelerate investment.
The second, “Beyond Electricity,” explored nuclear applications that go beyond energy generation, such as medicine, agriculture, space exploration, hydrogen production, desalination, and propulsion.

These discussions highlighted the role of nuclear energy not only as a cornerstone of the energy mix but also as a cross-cutting sector with an impact on multiple strategic areas. During the event, Rafael Mariano Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), emphasized that nuclear energy is experiencing a global renaissance, following its recognition at COP28 (UAE) as essential in the fight against climate change. Meanwhile, Fatih Birol, Executive Director of the International Energy Agency (IEA), noted that 2025 will mark a historic record in nuclear power generation, with over 70 GW under construction and 40 countries developing atomic programs.

GDES present with two unique spaces: one to connect, and another to share and grow

This year, GDES featured two distinct spaces at the exhibition:

  • A corporate stand, dedicated to commercial information and business meetings, where potential clients could meet with directors and heads of the various business units.

  • A more informal meeting area, designed to foster knowledge exchange (know-how), networking, and the creation of new professional opportunities and partnerships.

Throughout the event, the GDES team had the opportunity to meet with clients, partners, and representatives of international companies — strengthening relationships and exploring new synergies in an environment of collaboration and shared growth.

WNE 2025 has been an excellent opportunity to strengthen alliances, generate new opportunities, and continue promoting the excellence and safety that define GDES and the nuclear sector as a whole.

See you at the next edition, in 2027!
