GDES Wind “Blowing strong from Wind to Solar”: Power Electronics and GDES Wind join forces in the U.S.

GDES Wind USA has taken a strategic step forward in its diversification process by expanding its operations from the wind sector into solar energy. This move represents a natural extension of the company’s expertise in wind turbine blade maintenance toward new opportunities in the renewable energy field.
The company has formed a strategic alliance with Power Electronics USA, also of Valencian origin and headquartered in Valencia, Spain. The partnership involves carrying out retrofit services on solar inverters located in solar parks across the states of Virginia, Arizona, California, and Georgia.
Since mid-April 2025, two teams made up of 12 technicians from GDES Wind USA have been executing these tasks after completing specialized training at Power Electronics’ facilities in Houston. All operations are being conducted under the highest standards of safety, quality, and operational efficiency.
To meet the expected increase in workload, two additional teams (10 more technicians) will join the effort by the end of June, bringing the total field staff to 22 technicians. The collaboration is expected to continue growing, supported by strong prospects for future joint development with Power Electronics over the coming months and into 2026.
GDES Wind’s performance has received high praise from Power Electronics. Based on these results, Power Electronics is considering expanding the scope of the collaboration by awarding GDES Wind new solar inverter service and maintenance projects starting next year.
Operational Synergies and Joint Growth
This alliance allows both companies to optimize their resources, enhance technical team management, and advance together along the path of diversification—not only by increasing the volume of work but also by broadening their customer base in the U.S. renewable energy market.
Thanks to this collaboration, GDES Wind can alternate its operations between wind and solar farms, adjusting execution times to ensure maximum efficiency and availability of its specialized technical staff. In this way, operational continuity is maintained, benefiting both companies and maximizing the performance of available resources.
