GDES Wind has been certified as a GWO Blade Repair training provider
GDES Wind has been successfully certified as a GWO (Global Wind Organisation) Blade Repair training provider, in partnership with Seganosa, a GWO-certified training centre. A partnership that combines Seganosa’s training expertise with the facilities of GDES Wind and its experience with blades.
GWO (Global Wind Organisation) is an international coalition comprising several of the world’s largest companies in the wind energy sector. One of the main goals of this coalition is to develop a training standard to train and certify all professionals or future professionals in the wind energy sector under common safety rules.
The companies promoting this new training standard include the Acciona group, Siemens, EON and other companies such as Vestas and Gamesa, all of which are world leaders in the wind energy sector.
WindEurope, formerly the European Wind Energy Association (EWEA), has recognised it as the minimum standard required of any employee working in the wind energy sector. And it is currently the highest international benchmark in terms of quality, prevention, and safety in the industry.
Since 2013, GWO training can only be provided by certified bodies. By achieving this certification, GDES Wind will be able to provide internal and external training certified under these internationally recognised standards, which are increasingly in demand in the wind energy market. For Carlos Bermúdez, GDES Wind Business Unit Director, this certification “strengthens our position as experts in the repair of composite materials and enables us to specialise, upskill, and certify our teams quickly, providing greater added value to our services in terms of quality and safety. An improvement not only for our customers, but also for GDES Wind employees”.
