GDES Wind to Demonstrate Recovery of Wind Turbine Blades Deemed Beyond Repair at WindEurope 2026

The company will present real-life case studies through a daily audiovisual experience, demonstrating the recovery of wind turbine blades with severe structural damage, including units classified as scrap.

GDES Wind will take part in WindEurope 2026 with a clear and compelling objective: to demonstrate that many wind turbine blades considered “permanently out of service” can be safely returned to operation through advanced repair solutions. To support this message, the company has developed a high-impact audiovisual presentation to be delivered daily during the event under the title “Discover how we repair the ‘impossible’.”

The Technical Talks will be held on April 21, 22, and 23, always at 11:30 a.m., at Stand H38 (Hall 10). In just 15 minutes, attendees will gain a clear and highly visual understanding of how GDES Wind tackles complex blade repairs involving severe damage, including blades that have already been classified as scrap.

During these sessions, the GDES Wind technical team will present real repair cases, including:

  • Carbon spar fracture repairs
  • Reconstruction of large shell material losses
  • Tip fracture repairs
  • Structural shell repairs
  • Recovery of blades previously deemed permanently out of service

The presentation focuses on the entire process: what GDES Wind receives from its customers and what it is able to deliver back, highlighting before-and-after results of repairs that, in many cases, were considered technically or economically unfeasible.

“At GDES Wind, we work every day with a very clear mindset: what is considered unrecoverable today often isn’t,” said Sergio Martínez, engineer on the GDES Wind Technical Team. “At WindEurope, we want to share that perspective with the industry and back it up with real data and proven results.”

With this initiative, GDES Wind strengthens its position as a specialist in advanced wind turbine blade repair, focusing on extending asset service life, cost optimization, and waste reduction, fully aligned with the wind industry’s sustainability goals.

Attendees interested in understanding the true limits of specialized blade repair are invited to visit the GDES Wind stand at 11:30 a.m. sharp on any of the three exhibition days.
