UNE 166002 Standard Certification of the R&D&i Management System extended to the entire Grupo Dominguis

To date only Titania held this certification, which has been renewed for three years.

Grupo Dominguis has renewed the certification of its R&D&i Management System in accordance with the UNE 166002 Standard for the period 2013-2015, following an audit performed by the accredited entity Bureau Veritas.

Advantage has also been taken of the process to extend this certification, originally awarded to the company Titania in 2009, to the entire group.  This will initially cover Titania and Lainsa and will allow for the incorporation of other group companies in later audits.

This decision to take the certification to corporate level coincides with the modifications made in the R&D&i management strategy, with the setting up of the Technology Development Department for the entire group, the incorporation of people from all the companies in the Technology Committee and the unification and generalisation of the procedures applicable in this area.

Hervi, the Mexican subsidiary of Grupo Dominguis, renews its ISO 9001 Quality Certification for a further three years

The accredited organisation, American Trust Register, performed the audit at the Laguna Verde Nuclear Power Plant.

The renewal of the ISO 9001 Quality Certification for the Management System was performed for a period of three years and was the first since the Hervi management processes were adapted and brought into line with those of the rest of Grupo Dominguis, a process that was carried out during 2009 and 2010.

2nd Master’s Course in Radiological Protection at UPV-Titania

Applications for the 2nd Master’s Course in Radiological Protection at Radioactive and Nuclear Facilities, will be taken until the 24th October. This is an initiative led by the Universidad Politécnica de Valencia (UPV) and coordinated by its spin-off company, Titania Servicios Tecnológicos, a member of Grupo Dominguis.

This course incorporates online tuition (90%) and face-to-faces sessions (10%) and is aimed at people with qualifications who would like to gain detailed and advanced learning in this field. It can be especially useful for people who work in supervisory roles in radioactive and nuclear facilities and for people who are already certified supervisors but would like to broaden their education in radiological protection and take it to a higher level.

The first year of the master’s course generated a great deal of interest both in Spain and abroad. Testament to this is the fact that this year, there is a sizeable group of students from Latin America (Panama, Peru, Chile, Costa Rica…). New to the course this year is a module on Nuclear and Radiological Emergencies, coordinated by the Spanish Committee for Nuclear Safety (CSN by its Spanish acronym). This organisation’s involvement is very important when it comes to endorsing the content of the course.

The links and partnership between the companies and agencies involved in the first year have also been strengthened. They are Iberdrola, Enresa, Lainsa, Protección Civil, Regimiento NBQR, Centro Nacional de Dosimetría, Hospital Clínico Universitario de Valencia and Hospital Universitario y Politécnico La Fe, etc.
