Decommissioning of the José Cabrera power plant enters the home straight

GDES, through temporary consortium UTE Monlain, has successfully dismantled the ventilation stack of the José Cabrera nuclear power plant (better known as “Zorita”).

The José Cabrera nuclear power plant will enter the final stage of decommissioning once radiological dismantling and building decontamination have been completed. The final stage will be a conventional demolition of the facility and building structures (including the reactor building).

Almaraz NPP acquires RESHAND robotic arm

GDES-T4S has developed a new bespoke version of its RESHAND robotic arm for foreign material exclusion both in and outside the pool.

The RESHAND model that GDES-T4S has delivered to the Almaraz Nuclear Power Plant is a new version capable of also operating outside the water, for handling radioactive waste and moving materials in areas of difficult access or with risk of radiation and contamination, such as a solid waste interim storage facility.

EDF qualifies the excellent results at Flamanville 1 as a “collective victory”

GDES congratulated for inner and outer containment work (project Extrados).

GDES, together with the rest of the companies that have intervened, has been congratulated by Senior Management at EDF Flamanville 1 & 2 power plant for their work on the inner and outer containment structures. During the refuelling outage at Flamanville 1 our client, EDF, carried out ten-year containment resistance and leak-tightness tests under the supervision of the French Nuclear Safety Authority.  The results of these tests will serve as a final validation of the coating system developed by our company (SIKAWRAP 230C SYSTEM).
