GDES Wind participates as a trainer in the programme ‘Keep it local’.

Keep it local’ is a training programme that aims to contribute to quality green employment in rural areas by training young people to work in the wind energy sector.

Fernando Tajuelo, technical director of GDES Wind, directed and delivered the specific training on repair and maintenance of blades within the Wind Farm maintenance technician course.

This programme, developed by EDPR and Vestas, subsidises the tuition of the Wind Farm Maintenance Technician course given by the Spanish Wind Energy Association (AEE) and is aimed especially at students living in areas with low population density and low levels of employment in the municipalities where wind farms are installed. Keep it local, in addition to contributing to the training of these young people, who in their current situation would not have access to specialised education programmes, aims to facilitate their access to the world of work.

At GDES Wind we are proud that the Spanish Wind Energy Association (AEE) was able to count on us as specialists in repair, inspection and technical maintenance applied to wind turbine blades. This initiative not only aims to improve the employability of young people in rural areas, but also contributes to global sustainability, training future professionals who will support the development of the wind sector.

This initiative not only aims to improve the employability of young people in rural areas, but also contributes to global sustainability by training future professionals who will support the development of the wind energy sector. We hope that the ‘Keep it local’ programme will be the start of many careers dedicated to making the planet more sustainable, whether in their own villages or travelling the world.
