The international business development manager at Lainsa, and radiological protection and nuclear and radioactive facility dismantling specialist, Jose Tomas Ruiz Martinez, took part in the round table \u201cPast, present and future of nuclear energy\u201d. This debate, which took place last October in Valencia, closed the Club of Rome \u201cEnergy, Sustainability and State of Wellbeing\u201d cycle, organised by the Valencian Group of the Spanish Chapter of the Club of Rome.<\/p>\n

The aim of the event was to address the situation and perspectives of nuclear energy, and as well as Jose Tomas Ruiz it was attended by specialists in different fields, such as the Professor of electrical engineering of Valencia University, Angel Perez-Navarro; the scientific director of the City of Arts and ciences of Valencia, Manuel Toharia; The Professor of atomic and nuclear physics and Research Professor of the High Council for Scientific Research, Juan Jose Gomez. The round table was moderated by the business development manager of the Levante utilities and energy unit of Everis, Mayte Martinez.<\/p>\n
The role of the Lainsa manager in the debate was to provide a practical perspective and the vision of the company. Jose Tomas Ruiz explained the radiological impact that the Fukishima accident has had up until now. He also highlighted the importance of dismantling in the nuclear industry.\u201cDismantling should be considered as a fundamental part of the nucelar cycle. In fact, there is an industry dedicated to dismantling just as there is for energy production or for waste disposal\u201d, the expert stated.<\/p>\n
