The GDES presence in Italy continues to grow with the awarding (in consortium with Equipos Nucleares S.A,) of dismantling of the primary circuit of Trino Nuclear Power Plant, in the north of the country.<\/p>\n
Trino NPP, which belongs to SOGIN (Italian state utility), is a four-loop, 260 MW, light water modified and cooled PWR reactor, a Westinghouse design with certain similarities to the Jos\u00e9 Cabrera facility.<\/p>\n

The scope of the project includes the dismantling plan, the disassembly, segmentation, segregation and loading into casks of the major components, such as the steam generators, pressuriser, pumps, piping and associated lines.<\/p>\n
A team of up to 25 Spanish and Italian professionals will work on this project for 39 months: nine months of engineering, manufacturing and testing in the factory, eight months for assembly and start-up on site and 22 months of performance, the contract amounting to 8 million euros.<\/p>\n
The foreseen methods and techniques will be determined, among other factors, by the physical layout of the installations, the radiological characteristics of the components, the confinement needs of the work areas (SAS), segmentation requirements and size, the physical and radiological uniformity of the materials removed, the destination of these materials, etc., depending on the RP, POC and Quality requirements.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
