Industrial processes such as cooking, pasteurization, and cleaning require large amounts of heat, and steam generation through solar technologies is emerging as a sustainable and cost-effective solution.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"936\" data-end=\"1288\">In this article, we analyze the case of a brewery in Valencia that has integrated a concentrating solar thermal system based on linear Fresnel collectors. This plant now covers 10% of its thermal demand using solar energy, avoiding the emission of 1,300 tons of CO\u2082 per year \u2014 an investment made viable through an energy sales model and public support.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"936\" data-end=\"1288\"><!--more--><\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"1295\" data-end=\"1315\"><strong data-start=\"1299\" data-end=\"1315\">Introduction<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1317\" data-end=\"1602\">In the brewing industry, steam is an essential resource. From bottle pasteurization to wort boiling and equipment cleaning, a reliable and high-performance thermal source is required. The brewery analyzed, located in Valencia, operates continuously and has a high daily thermal demand.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1604\" data-end=\"1828\">To reduce its carbon footprint and diversify its energy mix, the plant adopted a <strong data-start=\"1685\" data-end=\"1731\">Solar Heat for Industrial Processes (SHIP)<\/strong> system \u2014 a solution that supplies high-temperature steam using only the sun as an energy source.<strong data-start=\"1839\" data-end=\"1865\">System Characteristics<\/strong><\/p>\n<h4 data-start=\"1867\" data-end=\"1916\"><\/h4>\n<h4 data-start=\"1867\" data-end=\"1916\"><strong data-start=\"1872\" data-end=\"1916\">Concentrating solar thermal plant (SHIP)<\/strong><\/h4>\n<ul data-start=\"1917\" data-end=\"2201\">\n<li data-start=\"1917\" data-end=\"1994\">\n<p data-start=\"1919\" data-end=\"1994\"><strong data-start=\"1919\" data-end=\"1934\">Technology:<\/strong> FLT20 linear Fresnel collectors (manufactured by Solatom)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1995\" data-end=\"2035\">\n<p data-start=\"1997\" data-end=\"2035\"><strong data-start=\"1997\" data-end=\"2025\">Installed thermal power:<\/strong> 4.14 MW<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2036\" data-end=\"2073\">\n<p data-start=\"2038\" data-end=\"2073\"><strong data-start=\"2038\" data-end=\"2064\">Operating temperature:<\/strong> 225\u202f\u00b0C<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2074\" data-end=\"2149\">\n<p data-start=\"2076\" data-end=\"2149\"><strong data-start=\"2076\" data-end=\"2095\">Steam pressure:<\/strong> 8 bar reduction<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul data-start=\"2254\" data-end=\"2389\">\n<li data-start=\"2254\" data-end=\"2304\">\n<p data-start=\"2256\" data-end=\"2304\"><strong data-start=\"2256\" efficiency even on cloudy days.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"3427\" data-end=\"3531\">\n<p data-start=\"3429\" data-end=\"3531\"><strong data-start=\"3429\" data-end=\"3454\">Seamless integration:<\/strong> The system was implemented without redesigns or long production stoppages.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"3532\" data-end=\"3734\">\n<p data-start=\"3534\" data-end=\"3734\"><strong data-start=\"3534\" data-end=\"3555\">Replicable model:<\/strong> While presented as a theoretical case, it is based on a real, functioning installation \u2014 offering a valuable reference for other industries seeking to decarbonize process heat.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"3736\" data-end=\"3924\">Beyond sustainability, the system enhances energy resilience, supports compliance with environmental regulations, and strengthens the company\u2019s brand image as a climate-conscious business.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"3931\" data-end=\"3949\"><strong data-start=\"3935\" data-end=\"3949\">Conclusion<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"3951\" data-end=\"4293\">This case study shows that concentrating solar thermal energy is a viable, efficient, and scalable solution for energy-intensive industrial processes like brewing. The combination of sustainability, cost savings, and ease of integration positions linear Fresnel technology as a strategic tool for the energy transition in the agrifood sector.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4295\" data-end=\"4507\">With evolving business models and continued institutional support, the adoption of these systems is expected to grow \u2014 accelerating industrial
